While searching the internet for information about impressionism, I came across some paintings of an artist I’ve never heard about before: Aurel Băeșu.
According to Wikipedia, Aurel Băeșu was a Romanian impressionist painter. He was born in the 19th-century in a small village called Falticeni, situated in the Northeast of Romania. Although he lived a short life (he died at teh age of 32) he produced a number of beautiful paintings that reveal his great talent and strive for continuous improvement of his work.
The painting that struck a chord with me was the portrait of Princess Ghica. In my opinion it looks modern and fresh.
